Activities in New York that will Excite you for the Fall

   Fall is just around the corner! It’s pumpkin spice, leaves changing, spooky season! It’s time for witches and warlocks to come out in their sweaters and cardigans! With that, it’s important that we talk about the awesome fall activities going on in our beautiful city! 

On September 1,2,7, and 8, the Washington square outdoor art exhibit is hosting an art festival on the sidewalks of University place! It features over 100 artists…and ITS FREE!

 Oktoberfest! This is a fall staple with responsible drinking, fall leaves, chilly weather, and good music! Bring your friends on by September 21st to SummerStage Central Park! Grab your tickets now because we KNOW they’re going to sell out fast! 

The Vendy awards! That’s right, a whole event of just celebrating food trucks and vendors! Governor’s Island is hosting the best food trucks, street vendors, stalls, and pushcarts all to compete for your vote! What’s better than enjoying some amazing food from around the world? The answer: nothing! 

For only 5$ each, you, your friends, and your family can all enjoy Dr. Davies apple harvest festival! What’s more fall spirited than apple picking? Wear your best fall clothes for cute pictures, grab a bite from the many food trucks they’ll have posted, enjoy the live music, and check out what other fall activities they have going on! 

For a free music festival with awesome local New York bands, head on over to Richard Rogers amphitheater  on September 22nd!! 

If you’re a vampire, then maybe the Hudson valley garlic festival isn’t for you. If not? It’s definitely a must go to! September 28 and 29th for 10$, you can enjoy music, crafts, games, family friendly activities, and of course, EVERYTHING GARLIC FOOD! 

If you’re feeling spooky a little early, the ghost haunts at historic palmyra are made for you! September 1st through the 30th at the Palmyra historical museum offers personal ghost hunts in a widely known haunted location! See if you can spot a ghostly shadow, or feel a chill run down your spine as you get close and personal to some ghosts!

Starting on September 27th, the pure terror scream park opens the world’s longest overall horror attraction (since 2015)! With 9 haunted houses to walk through, it’s everything a horror and thrill seeker is looking for! With live actors, scary props, and jump scares waiting for you, pure terror scream park is bound to get everyone shaking! No need to reserve tickets either! They sell them right at their doors!  

The great Jack-o’-lantern blaze is perfect for a family fun outing! September 20th is the start of the renowned Halloween walkthrough that features more than 7,000 carved and lit hand carved pumpkins all to create incredible displays! From castles to the statue of liberty, everyone will be in awe! Tickets are 23$ for adults, 17$ for children up to 17, and free for kids under 3! And to make things better? Parking is totally free! 

If festivals and crowds aren’t your thing, you can always enjoy the coming of fall in nature!! Catch a ride on the Adirondack train through some of the best scenic views New York has to offer! But make sure to grab a window seat to get a good view of those changing leaves!
