Healthy Snacks to try this Season


The weather is getting warmer and warmer, and your body is no longer craving those cozy soups and hot chocolates! Instead, if you haven’t already, you’ll be craving colder snacks to keep you cool and refreshing recipes to help you beat the heat!! Here are a few of our favorites!

The popsicle of course! The perfect sweet treat for a hot day! And with the weather getting nicer, fruits are ready to be picked! Making your own homemade popsicles allows you to make some fun flavors that are yummy and healthy!

Peach strawberry Yogurt Popsicles:
3 c. strawberries, to be pureed

3 c. peeled, diced peaches, to be pureed 2 tbsp Honey
2⁄3 c greek yogurt any flavor
Put into popsicle mold, freeze for 6 hours

Mint Watermelon Popsicles:

Not only is Mint refreshing, studies show that mint actually inhibits the release of histamines that causes allergies and hay fever. 

3 c. watermelon slices divided evenly

1 tbsp fresh mint
1 1⁄2 coconut water or coconut milk
2 tbsp lime juice
1 tbsp honey
Put into popsicle mold, let freeze for 6 hours

Coconut cold brew Popsicles:
1 c. homemade cold brew

1⁄2 c. coconut milk
1 tbsp creamer of choice ( we like to use mocha) 1 tbsp coconut shavings
Put into popsicle mold, let freeze for 6 hours


Avocado toast is another fun, healthy snack for summertime! This one will definitely leave your belly full and happy, and your body feeling refreshed!

We all know the craze over avocado’s, but there is a great health reason for it. Avocados are packed with nutrients that help so many parts of our bodies. It maintains healthy skin, improves digestion and even helps normalize blood sugar levels.

In a small bowl, combine 1 avocado, 1 tbsp lemon juice, a pinch of salt and pepper, and mash lightly! Put on toast, and drizzle olive oil on top! This one is also good with a sunny side up egg on top!


When we think of summer, we think of sitting around a bonfire with friends! And what goes best with a bonfire? S’mores, of course! Are they super healthy? One could say they were healthy for your soul! Sure, it sounds easy: Graham Cracker, marshmallow, chocolate! But add these fun twists to make your s’more the talk of the bonfire!

Salted caramel and Chocolate s’mores: The obvious Graham Cracker, marshmallow, chocolate! But his time, top it off with caramel sauce and a sprinkle of sea salt!

Tropical S’mores: To this one, you will want to replace your normal marshmallow with the coconut one and add a pineapple in the center!

Chocolate covered Strawberry S’mores: To this one, you will replace the normal graham cracker with a chocolate one, add strawberries! Try using nutella instead of a bar of chocolate!

Peanut Butter Banana S’mores: Nothing sounds better than adding peanut butter instead of chocolate, and sandwiching a banana right in the middle! This one is definitely our favorite!

Summer is good for many things! Playing outside in the sun, shorts, a tan! But even better are the snacks that come out of the summer! Share with your family and friends, enjoy summer, and stay cool!
