Top 5 ways to welcome spring

The turn of the seasons always is a mood change! Embracing Spring is always an easy one after a cold long winter! From the flowers that are starting to sprout to being able to feel the sun on your face, it’s such a positive change! Here are 5 ways to welcome spring into your life and home!

    1. Get to planting! April showers bring May flowers, right? So get started on your garden! Whether you choose to make a vegetable and fruit garden, or a flower garden, it’ll be nice to watch your hard work pay off the day you see the little sprouts come up! Here are a few plants that you can start growing in April here in New York!
      1. For veggies: broccoli, bell peppers, peas, and spinach
      2. For Fruits: Tomatoes
      3. For Flowers: Sunflowers, Marigolds, and Zinneas
    2. Spring Cleaning! It’s the perfect way to clean away winter’s mess and start fresh for the new season! The one day of the year you deep clean, declutter, and improve the quality of your home! It’s hard to know where to start, so make a list and take it one room at a time! There’s no need to rush spring cleaning, as it can get pretty overwhelming, so here are a few tips!
      1. Tackle one room at a time! Rather than taking it all at once, you can focus on cleaning each room the best you can!
      2. Declutter! Everything from clothes, shoes, decorations, books! Donate everything you don’t need to make space for the new things you’ll be getting this season! Now that winter is going, packing away your winter clothes and replacing them with spring clothes will make your closet feel less crowded! De-cluttering also mean going through that damn junk drawer! Go through and find places for everything in there and toss out what all you don’t need! Getting rid of unnecessary things is a good breath of fresh air!
      3. Don’t forget about ceilings and walls! You’re breathing in all of the dust on the walls, ceilings, and corners of your house! By getting rid of it, you’ll be able to breathe easier, therefore improving your way of life!
      4. Make a schedule or list, and stick to it! Figure out what areas need a little more TLC, and what you could do last! No matter what room you start in, having a plan of attack will make the tasks a little less daunting!
    3. Have a picnic! Go outside and enjoy the beautiful weather! I mean, you were stuck inside for most of the winter, freezing your butt off, and now that the sun is out, it’s time to go out and enjoy! Whether you go on a picnic alone or with family and friends, it’s a good time to welcome the new spring weather! Here in New York, we have some beautiful parks that have picnic areas for you to use!   1. Go for a walk! What better way to enjoy the nice weather, soak in the city, and to feel the sun on your face than to walk! NYC in the Spring can be a wondrous experience. It also starts your spring off right with some exercising! It’s sure to put a smile on your face!
  1. Host a BBQ! Use those veggies your growing, or go out and buy some organic in season veggies and heat up the grill! Spring is the perfect time to enjoy some time with your friends, so what better way to do that than with a BBQ?
